Clucky Goes to Hell
A brief update to the Supa-Chicken story. I found out what happened to Clucky after he died fighting the liche. Alas, it appears he went to hell for his un-chicken-ish behavior...
We finished the module, uneventfully. Neither Bride of Clucky nor Spawn of Clucky were particularly noteworthy. Chicken jokes died away. We killed the Dread Dark Lord Spazz and moved on to another module which involved cleaning out a tribe of giants and trolls.
Soon we found ourselves on a wooded road, ambushed by a small army of trolls. We start putting the smack-down on them. We get a bit separated, but this isn't challenging, so I'm not worried. Then Ry says, "Uh, I got a chicken from hell over here." I chuckle and keep playing Whack-a-Troll. "Hello???" Ry snaps. "Little help with the chicken from hell, please???"
I figure this is Ry's nickname for a cockatrice or something like that. But when I glance his way but I can't see any monster. Then all of a sudden, Ry's hit points drop from full to dead. "Frigging chicken!" Ry snarls.
And then I saw it. A tiny speck of feathers, hurtling across the battlefield towards me. "Clucky!" I gasped. Yes, it was the Cluck-Meister himself. He was back from the dead and wanted to...
...kill me, apparently. Clucky launched himself into the air as he neared me. I had time to read the name floating over his head (which did indeed say "chicken from hell"). And suddenly I understood how that poor liche must have felt. I wished *I* had time-stop as Clucky opened his beak and flames roared out, toasting me to a cinder.
We were more cautious on the re-load and managed to kill Clucky. However as I stood over my former pet's dead body, I couldn't help but wonder why he hadn't gone to the Big Henhouse in the Sky. Had he been cursed by the liche? Was he haunted by the ghosts of all the animals that died following his footsteps? Had he been driven mad by the sight of Bambi's undead Mother, standing before him with Melf's acid arrows protruding from her sides, screaming, "You! This is all YOUR fault!"
And I fear my own punishment has only just begun. This module (Giants Among Us) is ranger hell. Every animal in it has come straight from the Netherworld. I think every creature I killed in the Spazz module will come back in this one to kill me. I'm sure I recognized the "fiendish diseased beaver" that crawled out of the woods. And a short time later I was killed when I wandered into a herd of "anthratic demon cows from hell."
Sigh. Karma's a bitch.
