Leyna's Oath
To destroy that which is nefas
but also to defy its creation and thwart those who would spread it into the hearts of the fas
To protect the weak and the innocent
but also to empower them in their own protection and thwart those who would abuse them
To commit no evil act
but also to lay open the secrets in which evil clothes itself as righteousness
To bear myself with honor and nobility
but also to ennoble others and teach honor by offering both challenge and respect
To honor those above me in station and to show grace to those below me
but also to show grace and honor to every person, each of whom is both less and more than I am
To not give in to despair
but also to seek hope and uncover its power for the flowering of joy and rejoicing in the true gods' names
To give due worship to the Pentad
but also to bring light to their proper worship that it might not be subverted for unclean purpose
I would be warrior and teacher, mother and student, sister and follower, priestess and supplicant. All that is in me is passion: to protect, to love, to live, to bring truth and joy, to hold back the petty venality of men and demons alike.
I ask you with my body and my mind as my sacrifice: look upon these good men, these Paladins, and send them a path to return to your light, to increase their numbers and to take up again their tabards unstained. Give them the gift of fellowship again, in which they could turn for strength to one another. Give them the gift of the righteous sword, kept from them by
the dark pall across their vision, laid by the machinations of the Dreamer. Open them again to each of your visions: law, joy, vengeance, war, and the blessed dead.
Let their squires be sons and daughters to them when they travel, and let there be a great family which will greet them when their strength moves from their limbs to their minds. Let both poor and wealthy know the blessings of these examples among men, and seek them out to share their virtue.
I start with you and end with you, Dulcea. Though I know you least, I have felt you walk across battlefields, and have felt your judgement passing by in the night, and have felt the weakness the Dreamers demons cast on us by turning us away from your true nature.
We would give Terra's pains up to you, Dulcea, and with your blessing hold the wicked up for your bloody glory.
We would judge and be judged by your light, Legis, and with your blessing hold fast your doors. We would hold up the hope of life on this earth and in your blessed fields, Askelius, and with your blessing hold sickness at bay. We would teach strength and bring honor to your soldiers, Bella, and with your blessing hold your people safe against their enemies.
We would honor your Spring and rejoice in your Autumn, Crescens, and with your blessing hold children around us that they may grow in joy. We would scream our own dishonor up to you, Dulcea, and with your blessing hold our own hearts in our hands for you to taste whether we have lived in the paths of righteousness.
