Proclamation Banning the Order of St. Cavallius from Rostilla
Be it known that King Albanus Roster, Warden of Rostilla and Light of the One True Faith, has uncovered evidence of a most diabolical plot against the kingdom and all who believe in the Five True Gods. His most glorious majesty has proof:
That the Order of St. Cavallius has chosen to abandon that venerable neutrality which for so long glorified it, and now clings to the Empire of Viridia.
That the Order blasphemes against the Pentad, calling Dulcea "demoness" and labeling her worshippers nefas.
That the Order allies itself with traitors to Rostilla and seeks to overthrow the House of Roster, naming his most pious majesty nefas for his honor of Mother Night.
That the Order sends its knights to spy upon Rostilla's might and defenses, giving this information to the armies of Viridia, that the Green Empire might once more ravage our peaceful lands.
That the paladins of the Order did assault a Rostillan noblewoman in a most shameful and reprobate manner, nearly killing her before she could flee, all because of her devotion to the Pentad.
That the treacherous House of Surrexus seeks to embroil the Order in its rebellion, and to this end poisons the Order with lies and blasphemous untruths.
That the knights of the Order have petitioned Empress Mara Gentillia directly, begging her to assault our peaceful kingdom, and that for this reason Viridia threatens to send an army against us.
These and many other insults compel our most patient and tolerant king to close Rostilla's borders to the fickle Order of St. Cavallius. Any paladin who seeks to enter Rostilla will be turned back; any within her lands must leave at once, or face the stiffest penalties.
If any paladin deny these charges, and deny the Order's vile perfidy, let him appear before a loyal Rostillan count. Let him swear that:
He does not seek to overthrow the House of Roster, nor commit treason against Rostilla.
He honors the Pentad in its glorious fullness, and does not deny the Sweet One her due worship.
He will not act as spy for Viridia and will not abandon the neutrality that the Order has for so long embraced.
Should any knight of the Order swear these things upon his honor, with solemn, sacred vow, then will the King acknowledge him as a true paladin, and welcome him in Rostilla's borders. Provided only that he bear a letter from the count who heard his vows, to Rostilla, that the King might grant him letters of safe passage.
